To help combat spam, you can turn on spamassasin in your cPanel and create a rule in your email client to move these emails that contain the word "spam" into a specific folder. You can trust that at least 95% of the email that hits this folder is really spam. You may want to review the contents of this email folder before you delete it just to make sure email wasn't identified as spam incorrectly. You can also whitelist and blacklist email in your spamassasin interface within cPanel.
